In the picture, (center) is Georgene Dimas, Director of Metro Dispatch, accepting the award surrounded by her county members.Santa Fe, New Mexico – The New Mexico Emergency Communications Professional Standards Council (NMECPSC) awarded McKinley County Metro Dispatch with a three-year Accreditation certificate for 911 Emergency Communications on during the New Mexico Association of Counties (NMAC) Legislative Conference June 16-18, 2018 in Santa Fe, NM.

A joint initiative of NMAC and the New Mexico Municipal League, NMECPSC's mission is to enhance the professionalism, uniformity and consistency in the operation of 911 Emergency Communication Centers in New Mexico. In 2014, NMECPSC developed a voluntary accreditation program based on recommendations of organizations policies and procedures of emergency communications across the nation. The McKinley County Metro Dispatch is the third recipient of this accreditation following the Lea County Communications Authority and the consolidated city and county Portales Communications Center.

Founded in 1936 and incorporated in 1968, NMAC is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization governed by New Mexico county elected officials and employees. Its mission is to serve as a statewide voice for all counties in New Mexico. It provides counties with legislative representation, research, training and assistance in improving the administration and financing of county government. The association offers insurance to counties covering workers' compensation and property, casualty and liability insurance.
