rap award rsL to R: Executive Director Steve Kopelman, Past President and Hidalgo County Treasurer Tyler Massey, and President and Otero County Commissioner Susan FloresSanta Fe, New Mexico – The New Mexico Association of Counties (NMAC) presented Hidalgo County with a Risk Awareness Program (RAP) Award and a Workers' Compensation Safety Award Honorable Mention during the 2018 NMAC Legislative Conference January 16-18, 2018 in Santa Fe, NM. The county completed the fourth year of RAP decreasing workers' compensation claims by 33%, multi-line claims by 100%, and law enforcement claims by 61%. This award is offered through NMAC's Risk Awareness Program (RAP), a workplace risk control educational program that aims to reduce the frequency and severity of county claims through better risk awareness and safety practices.
