June 13, 2018 – Beginning June 15, 2018, True Health New Mexico will provide members access to a virtual medical clinic with 24/7, 365-day access to medical professionals. The new service is part of the company's commitment to state-of-the-art and innovative medical management.
 
The virtual clinic services are being provided by MDLIVE®, one of the nation's premier telehealth providers, offering board-certified doctors who are revolutionizing remote access to quality healthcare. The average experience of MDLIVE doctors is 15 years, and all MDLIVE doctors provided via the virtual medical clinic are in the True Health provider network.

"No one wants to spend the day or night at an urgent care or emergency room waiting to find out if something is wrong," explained Dr. Mark Epstein, True Health New Mexico's Chief Medical Officer. "The MDLIVE doctors are specifically trained to treat non-emergency conditions. If the situation is an emergency or requires additional medical treatment, the doctors will make the necessary referrals."
 
People wishing to access the virtual clinic will call the Nurse Advice hotline number on the back of their insurance card. The nurse will refer the patient to a doctor, if needed.
 
"The best part of the new service is that it costs our members zero to use," Dr. Epstein added. "In addition to diagnosing non-emergency issues, the doctors will also prescribe non-narcotic medications."
 
For members needing continued services after their telehealth visits, the True Health New Mexico medical management team is available to assist with additional care needs.
 
New Mexico Health Connections members will also have access to MDLIVE® doctors via the Nurse Advice hotline.
