NM 188 “Valley Drive”, Las Cruces, NM

Las Cruces: The New Mexico Department of Transportation District One office (NMDOT) has posted an alert for Sunday February 17, 2019:

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) is currently performing roadway reconstruction, utility replacements and lighting/signalization improvements on Valley Drive and Avenida de Mesilla. Currently the (2) active zones of construction are on Valley Drive from Picacho to Amador and on Avenida de Mesilla from Valley Drive to Hickory. The contractor will begin a seven (7) day work schedule with extended work hours in order to expedite the completion of the project to early 2020.

Valley Drive between Picacho and Amador, traffic is currently pushed into the southbound lanes as the northbound lanes are closed for construction. Hadley Drive is now open. Van Patten, Brownlee and McFee will be closed at Valley for waterline installation. These closures will be performed one at a time. Valley Drive is reduced to one lane in each direction at Avenida de Mesilla.

Avenida de Mesilla (NM 28), all traffic is currently pushed into the westbound lanes to allow complete reconstruction on eastbound lanes. Hickory south will be closed off of Avenida de Mesilla and traffic will be detoured to Rigsby, traffic will be allowed to use Hickory to go south towards businesses, but will not be allowed use south Hickory to access Avenida de Mesilla.  This closure is anticipated to last 2 weeks. Hickory north will remain open. 

Picacho (US 70) lanes are closed down to one lane only on both the eastbound and westbound lanes. The individual left and right turn lanes will remain open.
