The deadline for New Mexico State University’s 2019 DreamKeepers Summer program is fast approaching. Applications are due Friday, March 15, by 5 p.m.

During the week indigenous high school students, who have finished grades 9-12, will explore educational and professional opportunities.
“Our staff is committed to giving space for the young indigenous people to explore their dreams and goals, and work toward achieving them,” said Kayla Myers, NMSU College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences program specialist. “Through fun experiences, the youth will learn about what it is like to be in college and to have careers in the fields of agriculture, consumer sciences, environmental sciences, engineering and business.”

- College prep activities to assist students in creating a plan to achieve their education goals.
- Introduction to college opportunities and experiences.
- Interactive workshops in agriculture, consumer and environmental sciences, business and engineering.
- Guest presenters from the community, such as Kim Smith of Indigenous Goddess Gang.
- Field trips to nearby organizations, businesses and nature excursions.
- Mentoring and fun activities with indigenous college students.
- Concert, with surprise guests, at the end of the week.
