Larry Mitchell Hopkins, 69, of Flora Vista, N.M., was arrested today on a federal complaint charging him with being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition.

The FBI arrested Hopkins in Sunland Park, N.M., with the assistance of the Sunland Park Police Department.

Hopkins, also known as Johnny Horton Jr., is expected to have an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Las Cruces, N.M., on Monday, April 22, 2019, at 10:30 a.m.

The public is reminded that all defendants are considered innocent unless convicted in a court of law.

No further information will be released until after Hopkins' court appearance. The FBI does not release mugshots of defendants in custody.
