Santa Fe, NM - On July 14, 2019 at about 5:27 a.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal crash on Interstate 25 at about mile post 277 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  

The initial investigation indicated a 2007 Corvette was traveling south on Cerrillos Road at a high rate of speed. The driver took the south bound ramp onto Interstate 25 and for reasons unknown, the driver lost control of the vehicle and rolled. The driver, Hector Hugo Madrid Gutierrez (22) of Rio Rancho, NM was ejected and sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Gutierrez was pronounced deceased by the Office of the Medical Investigator.

Alcohol does appear to be a factor and seatbelts do not appear to have been properly utilized. No additional information is available at this time.
