McKinley County, NM - On August 10, 2019 at about 2:30 p.m. the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal crash on Interstate 40 around mile post 31, east of Gallup, NM.

The initial investigation indicated a 1986 Ford Bronco was traveling east on I-40. For reasons still under investigation the vehicle left the roadway and rolled. There were four people in the vehicle. Latoya Dee Aisetewa (24) and Leonard Benedict Aisetewa (21) both of Zuni, NM were ejected from the vehicle, sustained fatal injuries, and were pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator. 

A fifty-four-year-old female was ground transported to an area hospital, and a seventy-two-year-old female was airlifted from the scene, their injuries and current conditions are unknown. Alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor in the crash and seatbelts were not properly utilized. The crash is still under investigation with no additional information currently available
