About Make-A-Wish New Mexico: Make-A-Wish® New Mexico creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness.  When a wish comes true, it creates strength, hope and transformation. Since its inception in 1986, Make-A-Wish New Mexico has granted more than 2,000 wishes. One hundred and six wishes were granted last fiscal year and we anticipate a similar number in 2019.  To qualify, kids need to be between the ages of 2 ½ and 18 and facing a critical illness at the time of referral.
