SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management Jackie Lindsey has been appointed to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Advisory Committee (NAC), the state emergency preparedness agency announced Friday.
The NAC is an advisory committee established by federal law to ensure effective and ongoing coordination of federal emergency management activities. The NAC advises the FEMA Administrator through recommendations on all aspects of emergency management. For example, in 2019, the NAC examined building financial preparedness, in order to structure building resilient infrastructure in communities, as well as how to help close the insurance gap.
The NAC consists of 35 members, a diverse cross-section of officials, emergency managers and emergency responders from state, local, tribal and territorial governments and non-governmental organizations across the country.
