Eddy County, NM– On February 16, 2020 at about 5:47 p.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal ATV crash at the Hackberry Lake Sand Dunes, near Loco Hills, NM.  

The initial investigation indicated a 2015 Polaris ATV, driven by Jesus Anthony Seranno (43) of Carlsbad, NM was traveling west off-road in the sand dunes. For unknown reasons the Polaris went over a hill and rolled.  The driver, Seranno was ejected from the Polaris and sustained fatal injuries in the crash. He was pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of Medical Investigator. 

Alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor in the crash. Seatbelts appear to have not been properly utilized. No additional information is available.
