In all construction zones, motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and use extreme caution, as well as continue to be cautious of heavy equipment and construction personnel in the area.

Traffic updates are posted on the NMDOT traffic advisory web-site at http://nmroads.com and can be retrieved through our automated system at 511 in New Mexico or 1-800-432-4269 from any line.

Interstates: 

I-25 & University Ave, Mile Marker 1, Las Cruces 

La Calerita Construction, LLC (Contractor) will be continuing roadwork on I-25 and University. Pending availability of materials, crews will close the I-25 northbound on-ramp sometime in the next several weeks and re-open the I-25 northbound loop ramp to provide access to northbound I-25 for eastbound traffic on University. A detour will be provided for westbound I-25 traffic. The on-ramp will be closed for about three weeks. Confirmation and detour information will be provided in advance when this closure is confirmed. Pile driving will continue along University Ave for the installation of the new bridge. Regular work hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, traffic control will remain in place 24/7. Questions or concerns: Visit www.i25-university.com.

I-25, Mile Marker 103 to 140, Socorro 

JH Supply (Contractor) will continue replacing the guardrail and end treatments along I-25. Traffic can expect lane closures in the southbound driving right lane as the contractor is performing these safety improvements. Overnight lanes closures can be expected at milepost 138 and at 128. Hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. Construction is expected to be completed by spring 2020.  

I-25, Mile Marker 19 to 175, Radium Springs to Socorro 

San Bar Construction Corp. (Contractor) will begin replacing signage along I-25. Traffic can expect shoulder work as needed.  Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. Construction is expected to be completed by fall 2020.

I-10, Mile Marker 49, Deming Area

Kimo Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing bridge replacement and roadway reconstruction on NM 146 “Hatchita Bridge” at I-10 milepost 49. During construction the Bridge will be closed, detour will be in place on the frontage road, Separ exit 42 and frontage road, Quincy exit 55. Contractor is currently building the interstate crossovers at this time, the passing left lane will be closed. An 11 foot width restriction will be in place. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday; lane closures and traffic control shall remain in place 24 hours a day 7 days a week. 

US Roadways:

US 70, Mile Marker 150, Las Cruces 

Hasse Contracting will be continuing with bridge preservation construction on US 70. Monday through Tuesday the westbound ramp from US 70 to northbound and southbound I-25 will be closed. Beginning Wednesday nighttime work will be in place on US 70 the northbound and eastbound ramps will be closed. Friday expect a partial closure of eastbound US 70 to southbound I-25. Detours will be posted for all closures please follow construction signing. Continue to use caution as roadways and ramps are closed for your protection. Respect traffic control devices, detours are available and follow construction signage for your safety. 

US 70 Main & Motel Drive, Lordsburg 

A-Mountain Construction (Contractor) will be repairing valve box and manhole covers along Main Street from the Motel Drive Intersection (US 70) to end of State Maintenance route approximately 1.9 miles. Lane closures will be in effect on both routes with an 11’ width restriction. No parking will be allowed along the roadway during construction. Hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, daily this includes weekend work. 

US 180, Mile Marker 114 to 99, Silver City to Cliff 

The New Mexico Department of Transportation will have maintainers and equipment on US 180 from milepost 114 (Silver City) to milepost 99 (near Mangus Springs). This will be for fog sealing operations, to extend the life of the roadway. Traffic can expect a pilot car and flagging operation Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am until 4:30 pm daily. 

US 60, Mile Marker 92 to 138, Socorro 

JH Supply (Contractor) will continue replacing signage along US 60. Traffic can expect shoulder work as needed.  Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. Construction is expected to be completed by spring 2020.  

State Roadways:

NM 90, Silver City to Lordsburg 

The New Mexico Department of Transportation has completed fog sealing along NM 90, roadway is not striped and is expected to be completed within the next week. Continue to use caution and follow posted speed limits.  

NM 187 “El Camino Real”, Mile Marker 15.4 to 16.09, Arrey 

Hasse Contacting Company, Inc. (Contractor) will begin the replacement of Bridges located in Arrey. The first bridge is located at milepost 15.4 near the Caballo Dairy; the second bridge is located at milepost 16.09 near Agua Fria Road over the Montoya Arroyo. Both bridges will have a detoured bypass at their locations; a 12 foot width restriction will be in place. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday; lane closures and traffic control shall remain in place 24 hours a day 7 days a week. 

Hatch Safety Improvement Project

Hasse Contacting Company, Inc. (Contractor) will begin the roadway improvement project along NM 26 “W Hall Street” from milepost 45 “Placitas Ave” to milepost 47.3 on “N Franklin Street”. NM 185 “E Hall Street” from milepost 35.2 to milepost 35.4 “Popular Street”. NM 187 “El Camino Real” from milepost 0 to 0.6 “N Castaneda Rd.” Road Improvements will begin with the replacement and upgrade of sidewalk, curb and gutter and ramps to include ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accommodations. Starting Monday April 6, 2020 sidewalks will be detoured in areas for construction and the safety of the public. Contractor hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm daily. Public Meetings to be announced within the next month. 

NM 187 “El Camino Real”, Mile Marker 0.9 to 6, Hatch 

Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will begin roadway reconstruction on NM 187 “El Camino Real” from milepost o.9 to milepost 6, a total of 5.163 miles. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane of traffic with pilot car operations during working hours when a lane closure is needed; an 11 foot with restriction is in place. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. 

NM 188 Valley Drive/ NM 28 Avenida de Mesilla, Las Cruces

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) is currently finalizing roadway reconstruction, utility replacements and lighting/signalization improvements on Valley Drive.  The project is in the final phase of construction so there will be multiple lane closures in both directions to accommodate the last striping and landscaping on the project. Construction will be 7 AM to 5 PM, 5 days a week.  Visit www.valleydrive.net.

NM 136 “Pete V Domenici Hwy”, Mile Marker 0.448 to 9.168, Santa Teresa 

FNF Construction, INC. (Contractor) has finished construction on NM 136.  All lanes are now open with the exception of temporary lane drops/shoulder closures as needed to finalize work. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday until all punch list items are complete.

NM 273 “McNutt Road” Mile Marker 0 - 3, Sunland Park 

Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) continues with roadway reconstruction, rehabilitation, signalization & lighting along NM 273 “McNutt Rd”.  For paving operations, traffic will be switched starting Friday April 3rd to the northbound lanes for approximately 3 days. Once complete traffic will be shifted back onto southbound lanes for the continuation of construction. Traffic switch will be from Racetrack Road to Sunland Park Drive. Racetrack Road is closed for continued construction with a detour on Sunland Park Drive, Anapra Rd. is closed during SB Lane construction on NM 273; public will have access to businesses throughout project. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Construction is expected to be completed by spring 2020. 

Las Cruces Projects – City of Las Cruces:

Karen Drive

From Dona Ana Rd. to dead end will be open to residential traffic only.  Access to residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Court Avenue

From Armijo St. to Alameda will be open to residential traffic only.  Access to businesses and residences will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Alameda Boulevard 

From Las Cruces Ave. to Hadley will have alternating lane closures.  Access to businesses and residences will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

El Paso Projects – Go 10/Border West Expressway
