The 140 Fire, located in the community of Abiquiu in Rio Arriba County, is now 30% contained. Today resources from the Forestry Division and Rio Arriba County will continue to secure the perimeter of the fire and mop up hot spots. No structures are threatened at this time and evacuations were lifted by the Rio Arriba County Sheriff's Department last night (04/10). The fire was reported around 2:00 p.m. April 10th and burned on both sides of the Rio Chama Bosque. Smoke may continue to be seen in the area. Individuals sensitive to wildfire smoke should take precautions and use the New Mexico Department of Health 5-3-1 Visibility Method to determine if it's safe to be outside. Learn more at
