New Mexico State Police Assigning Extra Officers to Bernalillo County to Tackle Violent Crime

Bernalillo County, NM – In the wake of the increase in violent crime in Bernalillo County the New Mexico State Police will be sending additional officers to assist local agencies in criminal enforcement.

The New Mexico State Police is and will continue to be committed to proactively protecting the citizens of New Mexico.  The extra State Police officers assigned to the area will focus on carrying out traditional proactive policing to stop violent crime and take violent criminals off the street.  Officers will conduct traffic and criminal enforcement operations like saturation patrols, warrant roundups, and narcotics operations.

State Police will work in conjunction with BCSO and APD to accomplish this goal together. We are still in the initial process of developing an operational plan and will have more information for the public once finalized.
