ROSWELL, NM—Representative Greg Nibert (R-District 51) is submitting his name to the Chaves, Curry, DeBaca, Lea and Roosevelt County Commissions for their consideration of advancing his name to the Governor for appointment to fill the Senate District 27 seat recently vacated by long time Senator Stuart Ingle.

“Senator Ingle will be remembered as a champion of Eastern New Mexico and really, all of New Mexico,” said Rep. Greg Nibert. “He served as a mentor to many, including myself. He set a very high bar for public service, and it would be an honor to follow in his footsteps.”

“I seek the nominations of the County Commissions to allow me to be a strong voice for constituents in Eastern New Mexico in the Senate. As a member of the House, I am recognized as a strong advocate for oil and gas, agriculture, water, crime and child abuse prevention, and traditional family values. I believe my experience and voice will be amplified in the Senate as there are 42 members, much smaller than the House.”

“I am honored to have the endorsements of Representative Andrea Reeb, who represents Curry and Roosevelt Counties, Representative Martin Zamora, who represents Curry, Roosevelt, and De Baca Counties, and Representative Larry Scott who represents Lea County.”

Greg Nibert is currently serving his fourth term in the New Mexico House of Representatives, where he also serves in caucus leadership as the House Republican Whip.
