New Mexico State University Global Campus is opening a new spring 2024 cohort for its in-demand project management microlearning course, which begins Feb. 1.

The popular course offers professionals an opportunity to master project management fundamentals. Participants receive a digital badge to display on a resume upon completion. The course fee is $1,500.

Designed to provide a thorough understanding of project management, the course will guide learners through the nuances of planning, implementing, controlling and concluding projects successfully. It covers essential topics such as:

Project management tools and techniques.
• Risk assessment.
• Effective communication of project deliverables.
• Roles and responsibilities of a project manager.

A key benefit of the course is that it aligns with the educational prerequisites for Project Management Professional, or PMP, and Certified Associate in Project Management, or CAPM, certifications. The course fulfills the 35-hour training requirement for the PMP certification and counts for the 23-hour project management education required for the CAPM certification.

The course is led by Thomas G. Pittz, an associate professor of entrepreneurship and management at the University of Tampa, who brings a wealth of experience from both academia and industry to the program. Pittz’s expertise lies in project management, entrepreneurship and management, making him an ideal guide for learners aspiring to excel in these fields.

Enrollment for the project management course is now open. Learners seeking to enhance their project management skills and lay a solid foundation for PMP certification are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
