SANTA FE, NM – New Mexico Counties presented Harding, Hidalgo, Rio Arriba, Lea, and Doña Ana Counties with a Workers’ Compensation Safety Award during the 2024 NMC Legislative Conference on January 18, 2024. These counties achieved a positive claim trend, and the lowest frequency of workers’ compensation claims for 2023. The awards, based on the number of employees, are divided into five divisions. Each winning county received a $7,000 contribution refund.

Division 1:  Harding County – Has received numerous safety awards

                          Union County - Honorable Mention

Division 2:  Hidalgo County – Has received numerous safety awards

                           Torrance County – Honorable Mention

Division 3:  Rio Arriba County – Has received numerous safety awards

                           McKinley County – Honorable mention

Division 4:  Lea County – Has received numerous safety awards

                           Taos County – Honorable Mention

Division 5:  Doña Ana County – Has received numerous safety awards

                           Bernalillo County – Honorable Mention
