David M. Rodriguez of Silver City, a caring son, devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and ever faithful friend passed to the Great Hunting Grounds in the Sky on Friday night September 27, 2013.

David was an exceptional bow hunter and was so full of life that he brought nothing but joy and laughter to all around him. David was brought into this world on February 6, 1960 in Silver City by his loving parents Dolores and Danny Rodriguez. He lived to hunt and fish most of all enjoyed spending time with his family and friends chasing the Big Bull Elk in the mountains, or going after Bass and Jet skiing on the lake. He was a skilled Electrician and worked for the Silver Consolidated Schools for 28 years before retiring in 2008 and then going to his next career at Gila Regional Medical Center. David was the most selfless of humans who was always exuberant and grateful to pass on his vast hunting knowledge to the next generation and whomever wished to learn his special skills. He was always there for anyone and never hesitated to help others in need and never asked for anything in return. He was definitely the best of us and taken from us far too soon, but he will live forever in our hearts and in the wind that blows through the trees of his favorite hunting grounds.

He is survived by his wife Shirley, his parents, sisters; Patty & Linda (Susie), his sons; Jason & wife Jennifer of Las Cruces, Michael and wife Nikki of Silver City, his daughter; Salina and boyfriend Gil of Las Cruces, and grandson Jaedon and mom Brandi of Farmington. We will be together in the big hunt before long.

The Celebration of his life was held at the Silver City Seventh Day Adventist Church located at #12 Peterson Drive Silver City on Thursday, October 3, 2013 with a reception following.
