Maria Christina Antillon 63, entered eternal rest at her place of residence in Lordsburg on April 25, 2014.

Maria was born February 21, 1951 in Colonia Tres Alamos Mexico to Manuel & Dolores Herrera.

She is survived by her children Christina Salinas (Joseph), Elizabeth DeLa Garza, Fernando Antillon Jr all of Lordsburg, Ricardo Antillon of Lovington, NM. Eleven grandchildren JJ, Andrea, Solomon, Malachi Salinas, Emmanuel & Christopher DeLaGarza, Vanessa Antillon, Lynette, Ricardo Jr., Karina, Amaris Antillon. Three great- grandchildren, Abigail, Andrew Salinas, Isabella Antillon and one great-granddaughter on the way. She is also survived by her loving partner of 22 yrs Tom Anderson and his children and grandchildren who were dear to her, Kamie Hill (Carlos), Sarah (Paul) Mendoza, Julian, Ruthie, Paul, Skylar & Kelsa. Two brothers Francisco and Daniel Herrera, one sister Dolores Salcido and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was a homemaker and after becoming widow at a young age of 39 she attended Western New Mexico University and received her Bachelor's of Arts and Masters Degree in Education. She taught in the Lordsburg School District for 17 years as a special education teacher. She had a great passion for teaching and she had great love for all her students. To all who knew her she was a very caring, friendly and happy person. She saw good in all who she met and treated everyone with respect. She lost her battle to cancer but during her battle she was the most courageous woman and never once complained and she embraced what was in store for her life. She was a lifelong member of the LDS Church in Lordsburg.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fernando Antillon and a sister Eustolia Hernandez.

Services were held at Lordsburg High School Gym Tuesday April 29, 2014 at 4:00 pm. Viewing services were from 2 to 3 pm at Lordsburg Funeral Home. Burial following services at Mountain View Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to Fellowship following at Lordsburg High School Cafeteria 501 W. 4th St. Lordsburg, NM.
