Alan E. Eliason, 80, a resident of Mimbres, NM entered eternal rest Monday, June 2, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born July 17, 1933 in Pasadena, CA to Alfons Eliason and Helga Hokenson.

Mr. Eliason retired from the US Border Patrol where he served as chief of San Diego and El Paso sectors from '56-'87. He received the US Attorney General Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement in '84. He was also Head of Operation Alliance.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 yrs, Adel Eliason of the family home; two sons, Arthur Eliason and wife Susan of North Carolina; Carl Eliason of Atlanta; one daughter, Kristen Smith and husband Donald of Brandon, FL; four grandchildren, Devin Driver, Sally Kate Holland, Kelsey and Katelyn Eliason. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kevin Eliason; one daughter, Karen Eliason; three brothers, Leonard, Delwin and Wendell Eliason.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 10 at 11am at Mimbres Methodist Church in San Lorenzo, NM. The service will  be officiated  by Pastor Janet Whitmore and she will be assisted by Pastor Tyler Connoly.    In addition, the US Border Patrol will be present to present honors.
