Kevin Coleman, 53, was a loving husband, father, and son. He always put his family first and could make a stranger smile.

Born on October 19, 1960 in Farmington, NM to Bobby and Barbara Coleman, Kevin lived in various places as a child due to his father's profession as a geologist.

Among his childhood homes were Texas, Utah, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Wyoming and finally Richardson, Texas, where he spent his high school years.

Kevin graduated from JJ Pearce high school in 1979. He had a true love of the outdoors and moved to Mississippi in order to learn to farm from his grandfather E.L. Coleman. Kevin was the best darn farmer in the Mississippi Delta until 2009 when he decided to retire from farming and move to Deming, NM. where he could begin his lifelong dream of digging thunder eggs.

Kevin, along with his best friend and wife Lori, opened the Spanish Stirrup Rock Shop in 2011. Kevin truly loved to hunt for the next new deposit.

He is survived by his loving wife Lori Coleman of 28 years, son Elijah Blue Coleman and his fiancé Kymberly Harris from Midland, TX, daughter Bobbie Lee Coleman from Boulder, CO., his youngest two children who are still at home, daughter Chloe Nicole Coleman and son James Lynn Coleman, parents Bobby and Barbara Coleman of Dallas, TX, sister and brother in-law Kellye and Tommy Echols, three nieces, Lauren, Alex & Presley from Dallas, TX, brother Scott Coleman, and niece Brianne Coleman from Houston, TX.

Kevin is preceded in death by E. L. and Vera Coleman of Yazoo City, MS, and J.D. and Seawillow Burks of El Paso, TX.

A Memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Deming, NM on Tuesday, July 8th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in t he afternoon. Reverend Ernie Vineyard will be officiating.
