Alexandria Elizabeth Montvill, 97, longtime Deming resident was taken home by the Lord on July 4, 2014.

Services will begin with visitation Tuesday afternoon, July 8, 2014, beginning at 3 o'clock at Baca's Funeral Chapels and the vigil and rosary service will begin at 6 o'clock led by Suzanne Lundy. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday July 9, 2014 at 10 o'clock in the morning at Holy Family Catholic Church with Fr. Ron Machado officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

She was born April 6, 1917 in the Borough of Queens, NY to Emelia Jusavich and John Pukenis. On Nov. 16, 1940 she married Peter Anthony Montvill. After their working career the family moved to Deming in 1979 from Waterbury, CT where they were active at Holy Family Parish, the local Moose Lodge and the Merry Mixers Square Dance Club. Her long life of 97 years was filled with participation in church and organization activities and functions. She enjoyed baking, cooking, working and traveling.

Survivors include a daughter, Micky Montvill of the home and a nephew, Thomas Pukenis of NY.

Preceding her in death are parents; husband, Peter Montvill in 1984 and a brother, Anthony Pukenis.

Serving as pallbearers will be Raul Viramontes, Don Hill, Richard Deschamps and Tommy Sourds.
