Kenneth "Kenny" Norman Whelan, 67, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Thursday, July 17, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born December 7, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to Robert and Shirley Martin Whelan. He proudly served his country with the Marine Corp. Many may remember him as their plumber.

He is survived by loving wife of 21 years, Carolyn L. Garhart-Whelan of the family home; one son, Robert Whelan of Silver City; one daughter, Kim Hanson of Austin, TX; three grandchildren, Kendall, Kourtney and Tristan Hanson of Austin, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Robert L. Whelan.

No service will be held at family's request. Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.
