Frank 'Pancho' Barrio, 65, lifetime Deming resident passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 at Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Visitation will be from 3 in the afternoon, Wednesday July, 30, 2014, at Baca's Funeral Chapels and the vigil service and rosary will follow at 7 o'clock at St. Ann's Catholic Church led by Lucia Montoya. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 11 o'clock also at St. Ann's Catholic Church. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Fr. Ron Machado will officiate. Military Honors will be accorded.

"Pancho" as he was affectionately known was born December 13, 1948 in Deming to Belen Reyes and Placido Barrio. He attended Deming Schools graduating in 1967 and in 1968 he joined the U. S. Army where he was engaged in the Viet Nam War. There he was part of the lst Cavalry, earned the parachute badge and a purple heart. He was a member of St. Ann's Parish.

He is survived by daughter, Bernadette Quintero and step-daughter, Veronica Peru of Silver City; 2 brothers, Richard & Reynaldo Barrio and sister, Sylvia Verdugo all of Deming; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Reynaldo and son, Francisco 'Panchito' Barrio.

Serving as pallbearers are Luz Ortiz, Ricky Barrio, Esteban Gonzales, Juan Montoya, Micah and Ray Barrio.
