Ismael Porras, 61, Deming resident passed away Thursday July 31, 2014 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital.

Visitation was Monday August 4, 2014 at 4 o'clock at Baca's Funeral Chapel with the prayer vigil at 7 that evening led by Guillermina Macias. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Ann's Catholic Church with Fr. Manuel Ybarra, Pastor, officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Ismael was born November 20, 1952 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Maria Garcia and Andres R. Porras. He attended St. Ann's Catholic Church and was a 1971 graduate of Deming High School. He spent his life working construction and loved the holidays and enjoyed dancing and camping.

He is survived by his mother, Maria Porras of Deming; 2 sons, Ismael Jr. and Adam Porras both of Deming; 3 daughters, Sonia Salas (Tommy) of Safford, AZ, Angelica Zamora and Vanessa Chavira both of Deming; 3 brothers, Gustavo Porras of Socorro, Andres Porras Jr. (Cindy) of Albuquerque and Jesus Porras (Tammy) of Rio Rancho; 4 sisters, Soledad Price, Olivina Baeza, Carmen (Gilbert) and Ana Maria Porras all of Deming and 19 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Andres Porras on April, 4, 2003.

Serving as pallbearers will be Roman Salas, Benny Porter, Ismael Porras Jr., Andres Porras Jr., Jesus and Adam Porras. Honorary bearers will be Harvey Tindell, Gilbert Ceballos, Tommy Salas and Gustavo Porras.
