Mario G. Sosaya, 62, a resident of Lynnwood, Washington formerly of Santa Clara, NM entered eternal rest Sunday, March 16, 2014 at his residence.

Mario was born April 22, 1951 in Santa Rita, NM to Mariano and Nellie (Garcia) Sosaya. Mario was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Bayard Council 9470. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, working on cars. Spending time with family, friends and most of all his grandkids was what he loved most of all. He had a sense of humor, loved joking with others. Mr Sosaya was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan.

He is survived by his wife Rita H. Sosaya; a son Mario Thomas (Heather) Sosaya; two daughters Maria Elena (Todd) Johnson, Jackie Sosaya; an adopted daughter Denise (Scott) Stracener of Lynnwood, WA; five brothers, Richard (Esperanza) Sosaya of Silver City, Robert (Patsy) Sosaya of Santa Clara, Johnny (Lucy) of Santa Clara, Mariano (Viola) Sosaya of Bayard, and Alex (Natalia) Sosaya of Silver City; two sisters, Rosa Linda Geff of Anahiem, CA, and Patricia Smith also of Anahiem; eight grandchildren; Nathan, Gabrielle, Jackie, Robert, Lorenzo, Vincent, Raymond, and Kennedy; and a great grandson Kyler; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He will be very dearly missed by all who knew him.

A Rosary and Prayer Vigil will be held Wednesday August 20, 2014 at 10 am at Terrazas Funeral Chapel in Santa Clara, NM followed by a Memorial Mass at 11 am at Santa Clara Catholic Church both being officiated by Father Robert Beccera. Concluding service inurnment will follow at Santa Clara cemetery.
