John Karl Behrens, 42, formerly from Silver City passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in Las Cruces.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Gila/Cliff Mesa Cemetery at 9 o'clock in the morning. Family and Friends officiating.

John was born August 22, 1971 in Roswell, NM to Timothy Laurence and Billie Jean (Oliver) Behrens. He attended schools in El Paso and Silver City. He graduated from Western New Mexico University Police Academy in 1990. He was very active in 4-H. He loved animals of all kinds, the mountains, cold weather (the colder the better) and had a great sense of humor. He loved taking a part anything to see how he could make it work better but didn't always get it put back together again.

He is survived by his mother Billie Jean (Oliver) Behrens, his brother Larry J. Behrens and his wife Ruth, nieces and nephews Talitha, Cora, Liam, Landon and Evan Behrens.

He is preceded in death by his father Timothy Behrens, grandparents George and Margaret Oliver and Walter and Katherine Behrens.
