Ignacio G. Carbajal, 88 a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Gila Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 31, 1926 in Silver City to Pedro and Angela (Gomez) Carbajal. He proudly served his country during WWII with the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lilia Carbajal of the family home; one daughter, Arlene Carbajal of Silver City; daughter-in-law Janis Carbajal, three grandchildren, Julia, Elizabeth and Daniel Carbajal Jr.; six great-grandchildren Danielle, Luis, Arykah, Lillia, Raylynn,Isabella; four brothers, Frank Carbajal and wife Jean of Bayard; Felix Carbajal of Albuquerque; Ray Carbajal and wife Rose of Riverside, CA; Albert Carbajal of Pueblo, CO; one sister, Angie Carbajal of Tucson, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Daniel Carbajal, three brothers, Rudy, Johnny and Pete Carbajal; two sisters, Lucy Udero and Mary Baca.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 27, from 5-6 pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil and holy rosary to begin at 6 pm with Deacon Bill Holguin reciting. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated Thursday, August 28, at 10 am at Santa Clara Catholic Church with Father Robert Becerra officiating. Concluding the service, interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers will be Rene Carbajal, Frank Carbajal, Michael Shelton, Larry Dixon, Daniel Carbajal Jr. and Ray Baca.
