Roberta Renee Stern Martin, 63, of Silver City passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at her residence.

A Memorial Service will be held at Bright Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 1:00 pm.

Renee was born on November 19, 1950 in Las Cruces, NM to William Bernard and Winifred Stern. She graduated from Silver High School in 1968. Renee was married to Don Martin for 11 years. After 11 years of marriage to Don Martin and a mother of 2 sons she went to Western New Mexico University and received a Bachelor's degree as a surveyor planner. Renee worked as a secretary for Phelps Dodge, and a surveyor planner for Troutman Engineering. Her biggest achievement was raising two children, while attending all sports functions that came with motherhood, working fulltime and getting her bachelors.

Renee is survived by her mother Winifred Stern, 2 sons Mike (Liz) Martin of Silver City, and Jeffrey Martin of West Hollywood CA, 3 granddaughters Kaitlyn, Tyler, and Mia Martin, 4 brothers Mickey (Annie) Stern, Ted Stern, Barney (Connie) Stern, Don (Debbie) Stern, and Doug Stern. She had several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father William Bernard Stern.
