Ronald Edward Rutz, 75, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed from this life on August 19, 2014, from heart failure. He was a 50-year resident of Bloomington, CA.

Visitation will begin Friday afternoon August 29, 2014 at 4 o'clock at Baca's Funeral Chapel with a prayer vigil to follow at 7 o'clock led by Suzanne Lundy. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning August 30, 2014 at 10 o'clock at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Ronald Machado, Pastor, officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery with veteran honors accorded.

Born on May 15, 1939, in Hardin, MT, to Amelia and Edward Rutz, Ron lived most of his formative years in California and Washington. He spent summers in Montana, working on family farms. In 1957, he graduated from Kennewick High School (WA) and then enlisted for a four-year term in the US Navy. While stationed at White Sands Missile Range, NM, in 1960, he met Marcella Lucy Caballero of Deming, and married her August 20, 1961. As an only child, Ron loved that he married into the large Caballero family, giving him 6 brothers and 6 sisters in-law.

Ron and Marcella lived a year in Deming and then moved to California, where he became a journeyman pipe-fitter. They remained married 52 years, until her passing on March 20, 2014. He will always be remembered for his fierce loyalty, open-handed generosity, quick wit, and cantankerous personality.

Ron is survived by his four children: Kenneth Rutz of Colorado Springs, CO; Patrick Rutz (wife Lisa) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Steven Rutz (wife Dianne) of Twin Peaks, CA; and Anne Hadaway (husband Rob) of Wrightwood, CA. His 10 grandchildren are Katrina, Rebekah, Kristen, Stephanie, Lane, Jonathan, Hannah, Amy, Robyn, and Robert (Bubba).

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Serving as pallbearers are Kenneth, Patrick, Steven, Jonathan, and Lane Rutz, along with Rob and Robert Hadaway.
