Gordon J. Piebenga was born September 4, 1944 in Grand Rapids, MI and passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 on his 70th birthday.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at First Presbyterian Church of Silver City, NM.
Gordon lived a life of service being active as a teacher, middle school counselor, elder and deacon in his church, literacy volunteer, and most recently as president of Gila Regional Habitat for Humanity.

He is survived by his wife Marie, daughter Laura and Dr. Rob Klinestiver and two granddaughters, Leah and Elise (IN), his son Michael (Laura) Piebenga, WI, brother Bill, (Carol) Piebenga, Kentwood, MI and sister Jan Bartels (Bob) of Jenison, MI. and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gila Regional Cancer Center, Habitat for Humanity- Gila Region, NM Imagination Library or Literacy Link-Leamos.
