Thomas Allen Nupp, II, 69, passed away on September 11, 2014 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM.

A graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 11:30 in the morning at Memory Lane Cemetery, Pastor Joseph Gros officiating.

Thomas "Tom," to friends and family, was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 24, 1945 to Thomas and Sarah Nupp of Lansdowne, PA. As a young man Tom served in the US Air Force and received an Honorable Discharge. After his time in the military he held numerous jobs, including working as a chemist for U.S. Borax in Boron, CA., before final settling in as a journeyman electrician with Lockheed (Skunk Works) in Palmdale, CA. When he retired in 2003, he and Dana moved to Silver City, NM where he took an interest in local politics. Tom ran for a council seat in District 2, which he won, and spent the next six years servicing on the Silver City Town Council. Tom and Dana lived in California for over thirty years, and during their time there Tom was active in the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 391 (Lancaster, CA) serving as a Scout Master, he was a volunteer firefighter, had great love for the outdoors, and was a true craftsman who could fix, or build just about anything.

Tom is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Dana Lea (Knight) Nupp, two sons Aaron Daniel Nupp of Parker, CO, and Jason Thomas Nupp of Palmdale, CA, and two grandchildren, Gabriella Victoria Nupp and Daniel Alan Nupp. Tom also has an older sister, Sarah (Nupp) Hess, of Delaware, and Dale Nupp of Lansdowne, PA.

Tom greatly loved the dogs and cats that he and his family had over the years, as such, the family is requesting that donations be made to the High Desert Humane Society P.O. Box 1973, Silver City, NM 88061in his memory in lieu of sending flowers.
