Alejandro "Alex" Jose Torres, 72, a Fort Bayard resident entered eternal rest Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Fort Bayard Medical Center. He was born February 25, 1942 in Pinos Altos to Gilberto and Ageda (Agnes) Flores Torres.

He is survived by his loving wife, Veronica Teutimez Torres of the family home; two daughters, Monica Loya of Anaheim, CA; Roseana Scruggs and husband Scott of Seal Beach, CA; three sons, Salvador "Sal" Torres of Tucson, AZ; Raymond Torres and wife Linda of Fullerton, CA; Jesse Torres of Mimbres; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alfonso Torres (Jean) and Felix Torres (Lucy) of Bayard; four sisters, Mary Marrufo (Rudy) of Bayard; Dolly Chavez (Andy) of Hanover; Erlinda Diaz of Lorenzo, TX and Emelia Misquez of Trinidad, CO; sister-in-law, Frances Torres of Arenas Valley, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Gilbert Torres of Arenas Valley; one sister, Peggy Torres of Bayard, NM.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 18 from 6-7pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil and holy rosary to begin at 7pm with family member, Christopher Dominguez reciting. The Funeral Service will be Friday, September 19 at 10am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Father Roberto Barreto officiating. Concluding service interment will follow at Pinos Altos cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raymond, Sal and Jesse Torres, Scott and Stephen Scruggs, Devon Torres, Anthony Johnson and Jacob Loya.
