Lela Ann Bates Griffin, 76, a resident of Silver City, NM passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014 from complications due to breast cancer.

She was born February 8, 1938 in Las Cruces, N.M. to Wade and Betty Bates.

She is survived by her daughter, Lizbeth Griffin Ellis and husband Michael, her son Richard Griffin and wife Charlotte, her grandchildren, Griffin Ellis, Lindsay Griffin and Sterling Ellis, her sisters Donna Mathis and Linda Rosenblooom, and her brother Michael Bates.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Doc" Griffin, and her parents.

Family and friends are invited to meet at Lela's home to share remembrances on October 11, 2014 at 2pm.
