Soledad Sanchez, 90, a Bayard resident passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Ft. Bayard Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 in the morning Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Infant Jesus Shrine. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:30 by Father Roberto Barreto. The Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 with concluding services and interment to follow at Hurley Cemetery, Father Roberto Barreto officiating.

Soledad loved spending time with family camping, dancing, talking and sharing stories about the good old days. She was a great homemaker that helped raise all the grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved to go visit her Sister Felipa in California and go gaming and sightseeing. She loved reading and watching game shows especially Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and Caso Cerrado.

She is survived by her children Josie Elizalde and partner Pete Palomarez, Avelino Sanchez, Rose Sanchez and Teresa S. Madrid and partner Bernie Marin, sister Felipa Sierra, 15 grandchildren; Susan and Joe Dominguez, Veronica & Scott Van Patten, Dora & David Valles, Rachel and Bobby Couch, Sam Escareno, Cythnia Sanchez, Connie & David Sandoval, Rhoda Rylander, Adam Sanchez and Diana & Rodney Luckenbach, A.J. & Enriquetta, Mark Sanchez, Angela & Enriguez Gomez, Daniel & Suzanne Madrid and Erik Madrid, 38 great-grandchildren, 55 great-great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 59 years Frank M. Sanchez, two sisters Geronima and Mary, brother Lauriano Ledesma, infant son Cayetano, granddaughter Melissa Ann Elizalde Escareno and son-in-law Miguel Elizalde.

Serving as pallbearers are A.J. and Erik Madrid, Mark Anthony Sanchez, Michael Dominguez, Robert and Casey Villanueva. Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Madrid, Adam Sanchez, Samuel, Jonathan and Steven Escareno.
