Rogelio Esparza Rodriguez, 77, longtime Deming resident passed away at his home Friday, Oct. 3, 2014.

A private graveside service is set to take place Tuesday October 7, 2014 at Mountain View Cemetery with Pastor Cesar Chavez of River of Life Citi-Church officiating.

He was born March 26, 1937 in Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jose B. Rodriguez and Josefina Esparza. After moving to this country he married Mary Chacon who preceded him in death in 2006. Rogelio was of the Christian Faith and retired as a heavy equipment operator from the New Mexico Department of Transportation.

Survivors include his mother, Josefina Rodriguez; a daughter, Theresa and husband Jose Sanchez of Deming; 5 sisters, Maria Prieto, Hortencia Villegas, Hilda and husband Carlos Terrazas, Romelia Almanza and Rosa and husband Teodoro Guerrero; 3 brothers, Jose Luis and wife Vera, Freddie and wife Carmen, Eddie and wife Nellie Rodriguez and 3 grandchildren, Victoriano Rodriguez, Macario and Ignacio Hernandez.

Preceding him in death are his father; wife; son, Rogelio Rodriguez, Jr. and a brother Rodolfo Rodriguez.

Serving as pallbearers are Macario Hernandez, Francisco Ramirez, Andy Prieto, Jose Angel Prieto, Jaime Rodriguez and Joseph Rodriguez.
