Esther S. Moya, 51, resident of Lordsburg passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 in Tucson, Arizona.

A prayer vigil will be this Sunday October 19, 2014 at 5 o'clock in the evening at St. Joseph's Catholic Church to be led by Alice Ramirez. Cremation will follow and a memorial mass will be Monday morning at 11 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Fr. John Weber, Pastor officiating. Inurnment with honors will follow at Shakespeare Cemetery.

Esther was born March 2, 1963 in Lordsburg to Manuel and Maria (Sanchez) Moya. She graduated from Lordsburg High School in 1981 and then began her career in the United States Army which spanned over 10 years. Esther had also been employed at V.A. Hospitals in San Francisco and Phoenix and also worked for the D.E.A. in El Paso and Nogales. She was a member of the Catholic Church and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers.

Esther is survived by her sisters, Gloria Moya of Lordsburg, Patricia Ortega of Lordsburg; her father, Manuel Moya of San Bernardino, CA; 10 nieces and nephews, Frank Madrid, Angela Madrid, Maria Ortega, Manuel Madrid, David Bustillos, Greg Bustillos, Samuel Ortega, Madonna Bustillos, and Rudy Ortega and Sierra Ortega; several great nieces and nephews; and her 2 favorite canine companions, Jai-Den and Bella. She was preceded in death by her mom, Maria S. Ortega February 11, 2004.
