Angel B. Alvarado, 84, a resident of Bayard, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born October 2, 1930 in Santa Rita, NM to Luis and Juana Barreras Alvarado. Angel enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing with his family. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Mounted Patrol and a crew member of the Hanover cemetery. He loved baseball and enjoyed coaching the Bayard Senior Division.

He is survived by two daughters, Janie Alvarado of Las Cruces; Reina Becky Alvarado of Bayard; one son, Robert Alvarado (Rosalina "Dodie") of Bayard; three grandchildren, Luis Alvarado (Michelle); Marissa Alvarado and Teresa Gonzales (Armando); five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Ariel and Luis Angel Alvarado, Matthew Gonzales and Gabriela Nunez; one brother, Ruben Alvarado (Carmen) of Las Cruces; three special nieces, Diane Silva, Cindy SantaMaria and Lupe Gonzales; godsons, Jerry Salas, Nick and Sammy Pedraza, Gabriel Alvarado, Ruben Alcala and Bobby Espinosa and other numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Manuela Alvarado ('04); his parents, a great-granddaughter, Angelina Gonzales; five sisters, Luisa Fletcher, Andrea Esqueda, Maria Martinez, Lupe Alvarado and Josefa Whitley.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 5, from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary to begin at 6pm with Dr. Gilbert Arizaga reciting. The Communion Service will be celebrated on Thursday, November 6, at 10am at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Deacon David Castañon officiating. Concluding service interment will follow at Hanover cemetery. Pallbearers will be Willie Andazola, "Mando" Gonzales, Jerry Salas, Johnny Esqueda, Gonzalo Gomez, Marissa Alvarado. Honorary pallbearers will be Ruben Alvardo, Ray Rodriguez, Tony Gonzales, Eddie SantaMaria and the rest of his family and friends.
