Marjorie Parker, 84 a former resident of Bayard, passed away Friday, October 31, 2014 at Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center in Alamogordo, NM surrounded by her loving family.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 4, at ten o’clock in the morning at First Baptist Church in Ruidoso. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at eleven o’clock in the morning at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with Marjorie's pastor, Dr. Alan Stoddard of FBC Ruidoso officiating. 

Marjorie was born May 10, 1930 in Maxdale, TX to Ellis and Bird Herrington. Marjorie obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western New Mexico University in Silver City and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Texas in Austin. She taught English at Cobre High School in Bayard, NM for 30 years. 

Marjorie was preceded in death by her sister, Patt Williams of San Antonio, TX. 

Survivors include her husband of sixty-seven years, Milford (Dub) Parker, two daughters, Sheryl Lumpee of Pueblo West, CO and Marla Casey of Alto, NM; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
