Michelle D. Castillo, 43, resident of Santa Clara, passed away Thursday Nov. 6, 2014 at Gila Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will begin at 9 o'clock Friday morning, Nov 14, 2014, at Baca's Funeral Chapels followed by recitation of the rosary at 10 o'clock. The funeral liturgy will be there at 10:30 with Deacon Bill Holguin officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow at the Hanover Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 9, 1971 in Silver City to Olivia Dominguez and Jose Lopez Castillo. Michelle attended Grant County Schools and married Michael V. Ortiz. Jr. She was a communicant of the Catholic Church, a loving wife and mother and happily surrounded by her family. At the time of her death she was employed as a merchandiser at the local Walmart.

Survivors include her husband, Mike V. Ortiz Jr. of the home; 2 sons, Christian Ortiz and Nicholas Castillo; 4 daughters, Deeandra and Victoria Castillo, Estraa and new born, Trinity Michelle Ortiz all of Santa Clara; mother, Olivia Castillo of Santa Clara; 3 brothers, Joseph Castillo, Phoenix, AZ and Gabriel and wife Galicia Castillo, Bellevue, NE and Johnny and wife Kate Castillo, Taos; 2 sisters, Nichole Castillo and Melissa and husband Albert Gonzalez of Silver City.

Her father, Jose Castillo preceded her in death in 2000.

Serving as pallbearers will be Nicholas, Christian, Joseph, and Gabriel Castillo, Eric and Trini Ortiz.
