Carlos "Charlie" M. Bravo, 81, longtime Deming resident passed away Tuesday November 11, 2014 at New Mexico State Veterans Home in Truth or Consequences.

Visitation will begin at 3 o'clock in the afternoon Friday, November 14, 2014 at Baca's Funeral Chapel and the funeral service will be held there at 6 o'clock. A graveside service will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at Mountain View Cemetery. Pastor, Jose Ramirez of The New Apostolic Church will officiate. Veteran honors will be accorded.

"Charlie" as he was affectionately known was born July 5, 1933 in Deming to Monica Martinez and Frank Bravo. He attended Deming Schools and in March of 1958 he enlisted in the U S Marines serving a total of 12 years. He was decorated with the Korean Service Medal. In 1998 he moved to Deming from Carson, CA where he had been employed in the Borax Industry. He was of the Christian faith and was active in local veteran affairs and served as Post Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars local Post 1477 during 2002 and 2003.

Survivors include a brother, Arturo and wife, Bertha Bravo of Deming; sister, Lisa and husband, Benny Urbaniak, Sturgis, S D; son, George and wife, Lupe Chacon, of Tucson, AZ and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents; sister, Dora Baca and 2 brothers, Robert and Frank Bravo.

Serving as pallbearers will be Damian and Fabian Chacon, Freddy B. Munoz, Jesse B. and Chris B. Lucero, Tudy Bravo Jr. and Eddie Hernandez III. Honorary bearers listed are Ricky Lucero , Jimmy, Frank, Marc and Jonathan Torres.
