Consuelo A. Muniz, 80, a resident of Bayard, NM entered eternal rest Saturday, November 15, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born in Hurley, NM to Simon and Bonifacia Soto Armendariz. She worked at Fort Bayard Medical Center for 25 years as a CAN Supervisor which she retired. She was a wonderful loving mom, wife, grandma, mother-in-law, and sister. She always made sure no one would go hungry; she loved feeding everyone and was a very good cook. She loved spending time with her family and all her grandchildren at reunions and all occasions. "We LoveYou" and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by one daughter, Christina Guzman of Silver City; two sons, Ray Muniz of Silver City; Teddy Muniz (Mary) of Hurley; eleven grandchildren, Luis Alfredo Roacho Jr., Jose Roacho, Juan Carlos Roacho, Valerie Arizaga, Rosemary Guzman, Jessica Chavez, Stephany Muniz Benavidez, Victoria Muniz Bustamante, Theodore Muniz Jr., Melissa Muniz; twenty-one great grandchildren, Vanessa Aguilera, Julian, Jasmine and Isaac Roacho, Dominique Escobar, Michaela Roacho, Gregory, Brittany, Robert and Noah Rowland, Adan, Gilbert and Armando Arizaga, Kiana Villa, Arturo and Arissa Chavez, Matthew Pacheco, Adrian James and Destiny Benavidez, Anahi and Jazlyn Ninthala; one brother, Gavino Armendariz of Bayard, two sisters, Carmen Gomez (Mickey) of Bayard; Esperanza Jacquez (Ernest) of Las Cruces; one brother-in-law, Julian Placencio of Safford, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jose E. Muñiz ('14); her parents, one daughter, Patsy Roacho; two brothers, Ignacio Hernandez and Ramon Armendariz; two sisters, Hortencia Placencio and Clorinda Lerma; one brother-in-law, Manuel Lerma; two sisters-in-law, Rosenda Armendariz and Elisa Hernandez.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 23 at 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil and holy rosary to begin at 6pm with Deacon David Castañon reciting. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, November 24 at 10am at Infant Jesus Shrine with Father Roberto Barreto officiating. Interment will follow at the Hurley cemetery. Pallbearers will be Luis, Jose, Juan Carlos Roacho, Theodore Muñiz, Arturo Chavez, Gregory Rowland, Julian Roacho and Robert Rowland. Honorary pallbearers will be the rest of her grandchildren.
