Mary Blanche Cooper, 94, of Cliff, NM went to be with her Lord Sunday, November 23, 2014 in Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM.

She was born May 31, 1920 in Dusty, NM to Bradley and Myrtle Hale. She lived her early life in Menard, TX. In 1941 she married Brooks Gibson. They lived at Ballinger, TX and then moved to New Mexico in 1955. She worked at Watts Clinic and when it closed she went to work at Hillcrest General Hospital as a dietitian. She retired in 1982. She was a very good seamstress, and loved to make quilts and other crafts until she lost her eyesight. She was a charter member of Gila Valley Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet and her husband Jerry McBride; grandson, Darren McBride; granddaughter, Shannon Herd and her husband Jerry; great-granddaughters, Jessica Penrod and her husband Ryan and Lexi Herd; great-grandson, Jordan Herd; great-great grandson, Brasen Penrod; great-great-granddaughters, Payton Penrod and Allison Penrod; her sister, Nettie Howard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Brooks Gibson ('62); Loice Nixon ('89) and Leeroy Cooper ('98); her son, Tommy Gibson ('43); two brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 26 from 1-2 pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the Funeral Service to begin at 2 pm with Tar Henderson officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lane cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darren McBride, Ryan Penrod, Jerry Woodrow, Al Lackey, John Cooper and George Witzke.
