Margaret R. Guzman, 85, longtime Deming resident passed away Monday, December 8, 2014 in Las Cruces.

Visitation will be Monday afternoon December 15, 2014, from 3 until 5 o'clock at Baca's Funeral Chapel. The prayer vigil will follow that evening at 6 o'clock at Saint Ann's Catholic Church led by Father Narciso Rivera. Mass of the Christian burial will be Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at Saint Ann's Catholic Church. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Fr. Narciso Rivera will officiate.

Margaret was born October 14, 1929 in Deming to Delphina Villa and Federico Reyes and married Jesus Guzman November 3, 1951 in Aragon. She was a homemaker and a communicant at Saint Ann's Catholic Church where she was active in most of the organizations, namely, the Apostleship of Prayer, Catechists, Altar Society and served as a communion minister to the sick and shut-ins.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Jesus M. Guzman Sr.; son, Jose L. Guzman Sr. and wife Adelina of Alamogordo; 5 daughters, Laura Pacheco, Priscilla and companion Saul Jimenez and Sandra Tarazon of Las Cruces, Mary Margaret Garcia and husband Robert of Albuquerque and Sonya Guzman of Deming; 10 grandchildren, Desiree, Jason, Gina, Jose Jr., Jesus, Jessica, Amanda, Margo, Nicholas and Matthew; 3 great-grandchildren, Anthony, Damian and Xoaquin and sister, Venecia Rodriguez of Deming.

Margaret was preceded in death by two sons, Jesus M. Guzman Jr. and Javier Carlos Guzman Sr.; brother, Ignacio Reyes and son-in-law, Manuel C. Pacheco Jr.

Pallbearers will be Jason Rouse, Jesus Tarazon, Nicholas & Matthew Garcia and Javier and Jose Guzman Jr. Honorary bearers are Anthony & Desiree Tarazon, Jessica, Amanda & Mary Lynch and Gina Guzman.
