Tomacita "Tommie" L. Barela, 91, entered eternal rest Friday, December 12, 2014 at Fort Bayard Medical Center.

Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated at 9:30 in the morning Monday, December 15, 2014 at Santa Clara Catholic Church with Father Robert Becerra officiating. Concluding services and interment followed at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery.

Tommie was born August 22, 1923 in Socorro, NM to Juan and Leonaro Lopez. She was a resident of Santa Clara.

She is survived by her son Robert 'Bobby' Barela (Joyce); daughter in law Barbara Barela; sister Antonia Chapin; brothers George, Arnold and Joe Lopez; 13 grandchildren Vicky Rodriguez, Debbie Barrio (Ruben), Greg (Rose) and Randy Sanchez, Devonne Pugh (Richard), Sandra, Robert (Brenda), Shawn, Gavin (Vangie), Jesarey (Monica), Davin, Arthur Scott, and Samantha Barela; 21 great-grand children and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ysabel Barela, daughter Judy Sanchez, sons Freddy and Arthur Barela, sisters Sally Lucero, Terri and Luisa Lopez, and brothers John and Richard Lopez.

Serving as pallbearers were Jesarey, Davin and Scott Barela; Greg, Cameron, and Brian Sanchez.
