Felicitas "Licha" Salas, 89, a resident of Deming and Bayard, NM, passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Sierra Medical Center in El Paso, TX.

Licha was born November 21, 1925 in Delicias, Chihuahua Mexico to Cesario and Prudencia Esparza Cano. She moved to Juarez, Mexico with her family until 1948; when she met and married Daniel Salas and moved to Santa Rita, NM. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother to many. She will be most remembered for her endearing personality that made others become her children as well. Licha was eager and able to make friends easily because of her charm. She will be remembered for her smile, affection, caring manner and sharp wit. We will miss her and love and cherish her forever.

She is survived by one daughter, Gina Simms and husband Bradford of Deming; three sons, Ventura Salas (Rosie) of Rio Rancho; Javier Salas (Estella) of Bayard; James Salas (Cecelia) of Castaic, CA; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Manuela Venzor of Hesperia, CA.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Daniel G. Salas (2013); her parents; one daughter, Cora Linda Salas; two sons, Daniel and Benjamin Salas; three brothers, Paco, Juan and Bocho Cano; four sisters, Rosa, Maria, Guadalupe and Romelia Cano.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, December 27, at 11am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Rev. Fernando Carreon officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jose Villacana, Cruz Salas, Javier Salas, Ventura Salas Jr., Ben Mermis, Caleb Simms and Danny Salas.
