Carmen Madrid, 88, a Columbus resident passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces.

Visitation will begin at 10 o'clock Friday, December 26, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Mission in Columbus. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated there at 12 o'clock followed by the Rite of Committal and interment at Valley Heights Cemetery. Fr. Antonio Balderrain will officiate.

Carmen was born February 21, 1926 to Elena Salinas and Sostenes Jimenez in Flores Magon, Chihuahua, Mexico. She was active in the Catholic Church and a benefactor of many seminaries.

She is survived by her son, Carlos Madrid of El Paso; sister, Amalia Jimenez de Torres of Cuidad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico.

She is preceded in death by parents and husband, Tomas Madrid in 1993.
