Mary P. Salaiz, 87, lifetime Deming resident, passed away Wednesday December 31, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces.

Cremation has been entrusted to Baca's Mimbres Crematory. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday January 8, at 11 O'clock in the morning at St. Ann's Catholic Church. The rite of committal and inurnment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery with Fr. Johnson-CMF officiating.

Mary was born in Deming on January 2, 1927 to Florentino and Josefina (Carbajal) Pacheco. She attended Deming Public Schools and married Gilbert Salaiz in 1947 in Deming. Mary loved to garden, sew and cook with family and also liked to shop with family and friends. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church.

She is survived by son, Ernest (Gloria) Salaiz of Las Cruces; grandchildren Evelyn Salaiz of Albuquerque, Ruben (Revae King) Salaiz of Las Cruces; great grandchildren, Abraham and Mathias Salaiz of Las Cruces; daughter, Iris (Marcus) Ranjel of Las Cruces; granddaughters, Lysandra (Hector)Garcia, Ciliana Salaiz, Jacinda Ranjel, and Marcayla Ranjel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and numerous brothers and sisters.
