Joseph Anthony Castillo, 21, Tyrone resident, went with the Lord on Wednesday December 31, 2014.

The Funeral Service will be held Thursday January 8, 2015 at St. Francis Newman Center with the rosary service being recited at 2 o'clock in the afternoon followed by Mass of Christian Burial. Fr. Tony Basso, Pastor, will officiate. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca's Silver City Crematory.

He was born May 31, 1993 in Silver City to Lorraine Maldonado and Melvin Castillo. He was a Silver High School graduate and a student at WNMU pursuing a nursing degree and also worked part-time at Papa Johns. He enjoyed playing his guitar, hanging out with friends, playing his Xbox, fishing, camping and most of all just being around his family. He had many talents. He could hear a song and play it on the electric guitar, the keyboard or the acoustic guitar. Many people did not know this, but he could also sing. He was very kindhearted, humble, respectful and always accepted everyone for who they were. Joseph never judged anyone or had anything bad to say about anybody and was well liked by everyone. He will be greatly missed, but, in all the lives he has touched, he will remain in their hearts forever.

Survivors include his parents, Melvin and Lorraine Castillo; 2, sisters, Serena and Gabby Castillo; maternal grandparents, Jesus and Helen Maldonado; paternal grandmother, Tonie Castillo. Also surviving are many uncles, aunts, cousins and many loving friends that all considered him their best friend.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Teddy Castillo and cousin, Richard "Tite" Maldonado.
