Dora Lopez Martinez, 85, a lifelong Deming resident passed away Sunday January 4, 2015 at her home.

Visitation will be Thursday January 8, 2015 from 4 to 7 at Baca's Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10 at Baca's Funeral Chapel with Larry Anderson officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Dora was born November 3, 1929 in Deming to Higinio and Anita (Munoz) Lopez. She was employed at Border Foods for 20 years in the processing division and was a longtime member of the Spanish Baptist Church. Dora enjoyed working with ceramics and being around her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by 5 sons, Juan Martinez of Deming, Ruben Martinez of Silver City, Raul Martinez of Albuquerque, Henry Lopez of Truth or Consequences, and Gilbert Martinez of Deming; 2 brothers, Eddie Lopez of Apple Valley, CA, Higinio Lopez Jr. of Las Cruces; 2 sisters, Delia Miller of Las Cruces, Ofelia Chacon of Deming; 25 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan T. Martinez, 2 sons, Jose Manuel and Paul Martinez, 3 sisters, Germina Parra, Irene Lopez, and Julia Valdespino, and 1 brother, Jose Lopez.

Pallbearers will be Juan, Gilbert, Raul and Adrian Martinez, Lupe Salazar and Abel Alfaro. Honorary bearers are Henry Lopez and Ruben Martinez.
